Good books for knitting a sweater and felting?
I have basic knitting skills which I am trying to expand. So far, I tried to stick to smaller projects such as scarves and the like, but I am trying to learn other techniques. I would like to try a larger project such as a sweater, but most of the patterns I find are for large, bulky ones. Does anyone know of any books or patterns for more modern, tighter-fitting sweaters? I am also looking for a book with good instructions for how to felt knitwear as well as nice projects. Thank you.
Look in big craft stores, next to the crappy yarns. Usually they have really nice little handouts for all kinds of stuff, and I've seen plenty of the type of sweaters you are thinking of. As for felting, it's pretty easy. You don't really need a book for it. Basically, you knit/crochet/do something with wool yarn, something about twice as big as it should be, and put it in the wash on HIGH heat. Take it out, block it, and leave it to dry. That's it.
